Susan A.Interesting info Lynn. Thank heavens you are a trail blazer!
Well I had good news and bad news today - the good news is that my brother has been headache free now for 2 days (after taking my dex) that is a MIRACLE. He is going to go back to his doc with the "results from his own personal study" and see if now he can get some action.
The bad news was this - I talked to my endo's ofc to see about getting the liquid dex. My endo said "no" since he had never used it and didn't feel comfortable prescribing it. My pharmacist thinks the guy is nuts because it would be much easier for me to take the right dose for me (somewhere between .375 and .5) with the liquid - I'll get myself armed with info from you gals/guys and have the proof when I go in for my August appt. The bad news is that my dexascan that I had done a week ago showed that I have a 7% bone loss in my hip in the last 2 years - scary! I'm not yet 42 - so that really concerns me. The endo put me on Fosamax (if anyone has used it please post a message for me) to regain what I've lost. You take it once a week and drink 8 oz of water with it on an empty stomach. you have to stand up for 1/2 an hour after taking it. I guess it can be hard on your stomache too (oh joy) - but I guess it works really well. I'm wondering if that's what Joan W. is taking too? He said you have to take it indefinitely - jeez - I've got to say I felt devastated after hearing that news. One more thing - first the adrenals, then the thyroid, then the bones. I'm feeling concerned tonight - that and a little alone. Glad I can come here.
