My Dad took Fosamax several years ago at age 60, because of quite severe bone density loss (his mom, sister & aunts have osteoperosis pretty bad). It worked wonders!! He had a VERY significant gain in bone density, and it also stopped the progression of the osteoperosis! I don't remember that it bothered his stomach too badly (which is remarkable, since he has a herniated esophagus to begin with), so perhaps it won't be much of a problem for you either! Also, he did NOT take it indefinately - only until bone density was regained (was about 6-8 months, I think); this might be different for you since you will still be taking the steriods (which I assume is most of the problem), but you might want to check into that a little more. If you have any other questions that I might be able to answer, just drop me an e-mail. Hope everything goes well for you with this new treatment! God's blessings.Wendy-Lee
