Deb LI don't understand how or why any doctor would make a comment like that lady's doctor did. I never discouraged my SW-CAH son from trying anything he wanted. We have however discovered that some things seemed next to impossible for him to do (or he eventually developed the skill YEARS after his peers). We attributed this to his dyslexia...which I feel was magnified by his SW-CAH. In other words, he was destined to be dyslexic, but the excess of male hormones in-utero made him dyslexic to a greater degree.
Two of his biggest physical problems were, one - he didn't crawl on his hands and knees until LOOOOONG after he walked, and two - he couldn't keep a swing going until about third grade. Some physical activities he excelled at, while others "just didn't work".
