Hi Lana, I do remember you posting a while back and I said a few prayers for you at that time and I will continue to pray that you succeed in getting pregnant. I went through years of infertility and the docs put me through many costly and painful tests. They were getting ready to put me in for another test when I asked them if they should be checking my husband as well. Their answer was "oh, we haven't done that yet?" Anyway, our problem turned out to be "male factor infertility". My husband did have surgery to correct the problem, but by that time I had run out of what I have come to term "emotional time". I was a basket case every month and decided that, instead of taking the wait and see attitude, I was ready to take the bull by it's horns (so to speak). My insurance covered 80%+/- of what was reasonable and customary (another story unto itself) so we went forward with IVF. It was a bit stressful and mildly uncomfortable during the harvesting of the eggs, but well worth it in the end, for us anyway. Eight months later we had our first beautiful, healthy baby. Our son Ryan, the one with CAH, came 14 months later as a little bonus deal. The doctors had said that women tend to be more fertile shortly after giving birth and I guess we are living proof because we have been trying for 5 years and still no special deliveries. We can not complain though as we have been blessed with two awesome children. Think about your options. Would you consider IVF, adoption, GIFT, donor eggs/sperm, etc? Have you already tried artificial insemination or any other treatments? I know that this subject can be very sensitive so you can feel free to email me if you wish. Above all, remember that you are not alone. Everybody has a story. This is the place to come and share it. Who knows, if everyone on this board prayed for you all at once..... you never know. My sister-in-law had IVF done and she asked the docs to pray over her embryos before the transfer. She ended up with twins!!!! Amen.
