Re: Re: knowing CAH status from DNA before they're born

My due date is 8 August. I had CVS (genetic testing at 10 weeks). It is a boy and is a carrier - does not have CAH but carries the gene and is NOT affected with CAH. I was told that they need to do followup tests to check the accuracy of the gentic testing. I will ask the doctors again how and when they will followup with the testing. I would like that more than one blood test would be done because a baby a day or two old would not be accurate testing because of the mother's hormones in the baby's system. Some states in the United States is requiring CAH newborn screening but I am sure the baby need to be at 48 hours old before the testing. I will check the web sites on newborn testing to see when they test.
