I think that you need to have genetic testing done - have blood taken from your husband to see if he is a carrier or affected by CAH before you get pregnant. Hopefully you will not have problems getting pregnant if your CAH has been carefully controlled. I am a carrier of CAH (and so is my husband)... that is why our children have a 1 in 4 chance of having CAH. If your husband is a carrier or affected by CAH... the chances are 100% that your child will have CAH. Dr. Maria New at Cornell University can do the genetic testing. I am 45 years old and pregnant. I read that after the age of 40 ... the fertility rates drop to 14%... it may be harder for you to get pregnant because fertility decreases with age. You really need to know your body and cycles to increase the chances.... and fertility treatments can be expensive and not a magic wand. There is not magic wand if your CAH was not controlled and you have hormonal imbalances for a long period and this caused irreversal damage. I am blessed to be having a son soon - it is a miracle!! Many women do have babies in their 40s... I hope you get pregnant soon and a healthy baby. I had CVS (genetic testing)... and the baby is fine. Another concern with women over 40 is chromosomal problems... again my baby is fine.Roberta
