Thank you for your input. I thought about that. I know I sound like I am talking unrealistic. Perhaps making a counselor available from the endo. would help like you said. Not necessarily the endocronlogist themselves. Although my dream is to see these endocronologists trained in that field. My pediatrician who is awesome believes this notion. She not only checks out my daughter's ears ect. she also talks with her and see's how she is doing. She also takes it a step further and asks how our marriage is doing. Some my think that is intrusive, but from the very first appointment my daughter had with us she explained that a "healthy family" ment a "healthy child". She said a child with a medical condition can put a strain on a marriage. SO, with all that in mind perhaps I am dreaming that one day the enodcronologist could be trained in this type of counseling. The issues dealing with CAH are complicated and would require extensive teaching for the endo. if the idea ever came about. BUT in the meantime, I feel they should have some kind of counseling made available within the office or hospital they are working from OR outside. But it should be available. When my daughter was born I was given a name of a counselor to speak with for myself when I first had my daughter. (I was sent home with a healthy "boy" for a week until SHE almost died) So the endo. thought I could use a counselor to get through this. I was told they were specialist in this field. I never went, but am curious what these specialist actually consider themselves to deal with. I am calling my endo. to see next week to find their names and numbers. Perhaps if I look these counselors up in my area I can post them for my state somewhere. Perhaps on the CARES Foundation website. If I can accomplish that perhaps I can go a step further and try to get a list for every state. Just so something is available. Again, thanks Betsy for your input!
