Re: CAH children & School

My son (SWCAH) will be starting 1st grade this fall.  He is attending a Catholic school, primarily because they had an all day Kindergarten and have a very good academic reputation.  The public school in our area is not the greatest.  We provided info to the teacher, secretary, and principal and have encountered no problems at all.  Last year I had to go to school a couple times as he got ill (once on the bus on the way there, once while getting in line to go to lunch).  They called me immediately and all was fine.  I realize we have perhaps "had it easy" when it comes to this school thing (since the issue has been raised here before), but I don't think you have to go to the extreme of home schooling due to CAH, unless that is your preference for other reasons.  My sons school also has a couple of kids with juvenile diabetes, so I think that "broke the ice".  I think if you keep looking, that "right" school for your child will be found.  Good luck!
