My daughter had surgery at 11mos of age because her vagina was not open all the way.  She would never have been able to pee properly or have intercourse later in life without this surgery.  Her surgeon was from the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles his name is Dr. Hardy.  He was excellent, there is minimal scarring and as she has grown, she is now 6 yrs. old you can barley see the scars.  She had her second surgery at age 4.  Her clitoris was growing out of control and it was causing her pain.  She had a clitoral reduction done by the same doctor and she look completely normal now.  There was only one problem and that was when they inserted her catheter.  They had a very difficult time putting it in.  We feel that we made the right decision by doing this and we did research the pros and cons of this.  I thought this was an excellent article for parents who are considering this article.  Thank you and God Bless.
