As an additional source, to help maximize your database, are you familiar with the reference book Directory of Board Certified Medical Specialists, put out by the Am. Brd. of Med. Specialists? It has much of the information you're looking for.  Basically, it lists all board certified physicians in the US by specialty and geographic area, and also includes such pertinent information such as where (and when) the doctor went to medical school; where he/she completed his/her residency and fellowship; and the hospitals with which they are currently affiliated.  Indexes of physicians, listed by subspeciality, are also included, for easy cross-referencing.  I have not looked up urologists and surgeons, but I have seen the list of Pediatric Endocrinologists.

 

Other reference books, which also list physicians by specialty and geographic area, are the Folio Medical Directory and Directory of Physicians in the US, put out by the American Medical Association.  The information contained in these, however, is not quite as comprehensive as that in the first manual.  Best Doctors in America, is another good source.  This book lists only the "creme de la creme"---those professionals whom other doctors would send their own loved ones to, if they were in need of medical attention. 

 

I found all of these in the reference section of my local public library.  Addresses are included in all of them, and a couple of the books list phone numbers and emails, as well.  Perhaps this would be a good place to start in contacting those professionals interested in being included on your website?  You could then "star" or, somehow, highlight those who come with personal recommendations from people on this mb or elsewhere.  I think a list, such as this---which combines objective information with people's subjective experiences---would be a great resource for patients and their families.
