Headaches in Toddlers

Hi all,

I need some advice/opinions.  Yesterday, Olivia, age 2 1/2, at various times, would get cranky/crabby/crying and say "I don't feel well".  When I would ask what the problem was she said her head hurt and she wanted mommy to hold her.  I wasn't able to get her to pinpoint a specific spot.  Though she didn't have any other symptoms, I gave her some cold medicine last night in case it was sinus (last sinus infection had no sympotoms).  But this morning she was at it again and on the way to daycare she said her ear hurt/iched.

We have an appointment this afternoon with her pediatrician to check out the normal stuff.

But, I have read several times on the board that teens/adults will know they need more meds because of a headache.  Has anyone ever experienced this with a toddler?  My understanding is that little kids won't claim they have a headache when they don't (where as they might claim a stomach ache if they don't want to do something).

If the pediatrican doesn't come up with anything, my next step was to call the ped endo to see if we should do a blood check (her normal appointment is 30 August).  She has been on the same dosage for over a year now.

Thanks for the help!
