A stupid question about growth

Do our CAH kids still have growth "spurts"? My 4 yr old CAH daughter goes through periods when she eats and sleeps a lot more that usual - lasting a couple of weeks. When my non-CAH son did this, it was almost always associated with a growth spurt. BUT .... isn't our CAH kids growth controlled by their medication changes?? I know that they obviously continue to grow, but aren't true growth spurts caused by a sudden increase of hormones (which our kids only get in controlled amounts - right??!) Or are some other hormones also at play here?? I just can't seem to wrap my brain around this one - help!!
