DebbiWMine did, too. In our county in ALabama, they are not permitted to give anything "invasive". If we REALLY wanted to push the matter, I believe we could get them to do it. There is an "Equal Rights for Special Needs" children's act that makes them have to provide what they need medicinally. However, you might have to be prepared that they offer you the option of going to a school that already has an in-house nurse. And do you really want to change schools?
I think it is great about the fire station!!! And do you know what? There is a fire station PRACTICALLY in the backyard of the school! I also knew that they did not carry solu-cortef on board but never thought of the actually giving it to the fire station. I will definately explore that possibility. I did not go into my son having CAH. I told them he had a condition that left him with an "Adrenal Insufficiency". And I explained that. If I go into the disorder's name too much, they might not tell emergency people the right information. PLUS...I want to protect his privacy regarding the extraneous issues of CAH.
Every fall, there seems to be the "right of passage" on this board of going to kindergarten in the fall. And here we are!
