Beth,

You must be going out of your mind with worry!!  I know for myself this is one of my BIGGEST concerns as my son gets older, as I am sure it is for many, no all of us, as parents.

It is one thing to have this condition yourself, but to see your child suffer and go through the pain, is like knives slowly being driven and then turned into your back.  It is so hard not to be the one in control.  But, your son is now the one in control and he is obviously mentally wrestling with his CAH.  He may have other issues going on also (I mean what 18 year old doesn't) that is causing him to feel this way.  Definately, try to get a friend, doctor, anyone he feels comfortable with to talk to him.   Find out why he doesn't want to take his meds.  Also speak with your son's endo.  Find out if there is a support group or another CAH patient he can talk to in person.  I know my son's endo has had many of her patients not just CAH but many diabetics go for therapy.

Go over the hard facts of what will happen if he doesn't take his meds.  He is an adult, don't hold back.  Do whatever it takes to get through to him.

Please keep us updated and God bless you and your sons,

Kimberly
