Re: CAH and LOW BLOOD SUGAR

Lynn T. is absolutely right about the low blood sugar. The last time my salt wasting daughter had the flu, her blood sugar dropped so low that we had to hospitalize her. After that, I did some reading and found out that cortisol also has a role in regulating blood sugar - which is why, when our kids are in or nearing an adrenal crisis, they can "crash" so much quicker than other children. So it DOES make sense that some of the symptoms of low blood sugar (and diabetes) could be present in our kids, too. But, if this is true, then the symptoms of low blood sugar in our kids SHOULD indicate that they are not getting enough meds at that point (under medicated), right??? Very interesting.... I'll have to jot that one down to ask my endo the next time! God's blessings!
