Another Growth Question -- Re: Liquid cortef

My son Marcus who just turned 2 has been oversuppressed on the cortef tablets since we switched from liquid cortef to tablets at about 8 months of age (I can't remember exactly when we switched).  His dose has been gradually decreased since switching to the tablets to 1/4 tablet in the am, 1/8 tablet midday, and 1/4 tablet at night (total of 3.75mg/day).  I haven't calculated the mg/m2 in awhile but I am sure it is less than 8 mg/m2 now if not lower.  He hasn't shown any signs of being oversuppressed except for poor growth.  He is currently in the less than 5th percentile for length and he has not grown at all in the past three months.  At my last endo visit (last Friday) his blood test showed he was still oversuppressed and we decreased the dose again to 1/4, 1/8, 1/8.

I know that there are a few people on the board who are using a liquid cortef mixed up by their local pharmacy (not the Upjohn stuff that was recalled), and I know a woman here in Utah who is getting the liquid cortef so I know I can get it.  So my question is, should I consider switching my son to the liquid form so I can more closely control his dose?  I am really worried about his growth and I don't think we can really lower his cortef dose much more with the tablets.  I think it is really strange that he is oversuppressed on such a low dose especially considering that he is a severe salt-waster (although I'm not sure if that really is related to how much cortef is needed).  The only times his 17-OHP levels have been high were when he was not getting enough florinef.

I would appreciate anyone's suggestions or thoughts on this.

Thanks to everyone for all the posts on this board.  I can't believe how much I learn here!
