If you DO end up having to get up in the middle of the night to take the dex, make sure and eat something with it, to minimize stomach upset: I used to munch a few crackers and some milk. Do NOT take Tums or any other antacid within an hour (before or after) of taking your dex; antacids can prevent the medication (and just about ANY medication, incidentally) from being absorbed into your body properly. I'm really done now!! ; )
