To everyone:  Thanks for the warm, warm welcome (yes, one can feel warmth electronically -- I always wondered that!).  I still want to collapse into the overwhelm I feel and it's mixed with gratitude to have found this site.  My duaghter is 4 and a half (forgive me if this is a repeat) and only recently diagnosed with CAH.  We don't have the test results back to know the depth of this with her.  I just know I have a lot of research to do.  I am truly concerned about side effects and long term effects of taking hydrocortisone.  Has anyone looked into this that can reassure me?  Are there things these kids need to be kept from doing?  I guess my endo will answer all these Q's when we see her again with the results.  I also don't understand why the diagnostic test using ACTH is preferred when it seemed to inflame her symptoms in the short term.  Isn't that what we are trying to keep from having happen?  Anyone?
