advice from parents

Hi to everyone,

I am writing to find out if any other parent would find a book on advice from other parents with CAH inspirational?  Most  of the people on this board are very familiar with CAH, but when I first came onto this board I needed some support. I had just found out that my newborn was diagnosed with SWCAH.  I was truly devestated. I could not believe it. I had never even heard of CAH. I thought for sure the doctors had to be wrong. The old , it can't happen to me and my child, thought ran through my mind.  I found everyone on the MB to be of great help.  A few were nice enough to email me and offer me even more emotional support on everything from how to cope to what to expect.  I found myself printing out their emails, so I could read and reread them as often as I needed.  I would highlight what I wanted to remember and would reread it as many times as I needed to feel better.  So and idea came to me. I started looking for books that could offer me some little bits of wisdom from parents with CAH kids.  I found a book about little bits of wisdom from parents on raising children. I wanted something more specific.  I wanted some info from parents who have been there and done that when it came to going through the intial diagnosis and how they coped, different ways to give meds, how to explain to their kids and others about CAH, how parents of older children let go, and other things that go along with being a parent to a CAH child. I wanted what they thought I should know about CAH and my child.  I thought I would start asking people for input and compile it into a book. I am a stay at home mom and this project sounds like something fun that might benefit everyone from the mom and dad who just found out about their child having CAH to the parents who wants some advice on how to cope through the ups and downs both physical and mental.  I would compile the input into a book and see how to go about offering most of the profits to benefit finding a cure or research for treatment. If any of you have any input regarding my idea, I would appreciate hearing from you. Either through the MB or you can email me.  I wish everyone well!
