Beth,

I am having a hard time, but not like you, with my 15-year-old son. His problem is that he struggles with his weight because of the CAH. He needs to be on high doses of Cortef and Dex to control the CAH, yet it makes him always hungry and quick to put on fat. He is a mature kid for his age; I think the CAH had something to do with that. If it would make a difference, we could make arrangements for the boys to talk. My son would gladly do it. For whatever reason, he has always understood the consequences of not taking his meds, although I always have to remind him and he sometimes does not bother to set the alarm on the weekends or summer (when he sleeps late) to take his Cortef early in the morning. As a matter of fact, it would probably do him some good to talk to someone with the same condition as he never has had the opportunity.

Take care and good luck. Either post a message here or e-mail me if you would like to talk.
