LisaI am the mother of a 15-year-old son with CAH. I was diagnosed with type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes in 1990 at age 32. I was told by someone at New York Hospital (a researcher who was somehow affiliated with Dr. New--I forget the specifics now) who told me that one of the few good things about having CAH was that you wouldn't get diabetes. As a matter of fact, she was so intrigued by the fact that I had it that she wanted to do a research study on my son and myself. Now I am wondering about what I was told way back then. Anyone else ever hear this?
