I can understand how frustrating it can be when the "experts" cannot diagnose your DNA sufficiently - my husband and I were in a similar situation. Our first (and only) CAH son died when he was 23 months old, and when we contemplated having more children, the "experts" said that it would be helpful (necessary??) to have some DNA from our child who had CAH. He had already been gone for several yrs at this time, so a sample from him seemed impossible. Then, I had the idea ... (please excuse me if this is very insensitive or offense of me; I assure you that I am only trying to help, not hurt you) ... the idea that I had was to use a lock of his hair that I had clipped before we buried him. To make a long story short ... it worked!! They were able to get a DNA sample from the hair, accurately pinpoint my husband's and my defective DNA, and subsequently test for CAH in my next pregnancy. I know that this is a long shot, but if you have anything that belonged to your dear baby - a lock of hair, finger-nail clippings, etc. - it may be possible to use that to help them find the mutation that they are looking for. I hope that I have not offended you by mentioning all of this. I pray that your current pregnancy goes well, and I will keep you and your baby in my prayers; please let us know how you are doing! God's blessings.Wendy-Lee
