We have done 1/4 tablets increases (1.25mg ). There is no reason why with a good pill cutter you can't do this.  My wife is a pharmacist but I cut the tablet most of the time.  If the tablet does not cut correctly enough, throw it out.  9 times out of 10 it cuts alright.  You may want to ask your endo about this option.  The chances of Upjohn coming out with a smaller tablet any time soon is not good.
