Kathy - My son does not get frequent headaches however he does not have the stamina that others his age have and yes he tires very easily. As far as the sweats are concerned, let me tell a story. When he was between 4-6 yrs. old, the slightest activity would cause him to sweat profusely from his head. His hair would sopping wet, sometimes from very little exertion. He also would get a sweaty head during the night as he would wake up in the morning looking like he just took a shower. Soon after I noticed it, he had a crisis. A bad one, had to call 911 - the works. (FOrtunately, it ws the only "crisis" he has ever had! Very scary though)At his next appt. the endo's kind of brushed me off and hinted that it wouldn't be because of the CAH, and questioned whether my husband and I are heavy sweaters! I guess they thought it was genetic not CAH related. Anyway, his weight had become an issue. They kept insisting that he was on such a low dose that it wouldn't be the pills that were causing the problem and that I needed to cut out the extra sweets and get him more involved in sports. So I cut out the sweets(keep in mind that his sister has eaten the same as him and is a stringbean, granted everybody's different but she wasn't having the same problem) and enrolled him in soccer (fall) basketball(winter)t-ball(spring) and also swam the whole time! And he had started school full time so was now having recess everyday. His weight didn't budge, if anything he was starting to get bigger. Then at the next appt. I got a different doctor (one of 4 we see as it is a teaching hospital) whom we had never had before. This soctor agreed to decrease his cortef by 2.5 mg. in the evening dose and see what happened. As I am sure you probably guessing, the weight literally fell off him in a matter of a couple of monthes. EVERYBODY commented how he was thinning out. Well, guess what else, The excessive sweating also came to an instant halt. Never to be seen again. Goes to show you that they don't know everything. My problem now is that two years have passed since then, he is still on the same dose and the weight is starting to crepp up again. Just had urine and bloodwork done, will find out results this week hopefully. Unfortunately, he is not that interested in sports and therefore I don't force him. However, he took tennis lessons this summer and seems to like that so he wants to sign up next week for the winter. Hopefully that will provide some exercise and since he is a beginner doesn't get wiped out yet. We''ll see what happens.Valerie
