I had a quiet holiday with my son Brandon, he is 17, SWCAH 17 Hyrdroxpregneleone Deficiency, My husband & older son left for a cruise, that my son planned (he is 19 and no CAH). So I got to spend some time with Brandon, we had a very nice weekend, talked about his future and how much I enjoy the time one on one. I do want to share with you that I have seen a great improvement in Brandon, he too has his low times, but recently his meds were changed from taking cortef 3x a day and florinef 2x a day, he was getting such awful results, and was questioned if he was taking his meds. As his parents, we still spot check that he was taking it. But he started to complain about having to take all this medicine, so when we went to his last visit, I mentioned that I was struggling with this, our endo explained to Brandon in terms he understood what the importance was and how it effects everything else as he goes thru puberty. He asked Brandon what he could do for him, Brandon said "I dont want to take all this meds, our endo said well you need the meds, but I can change it to another type, where you take it only twice a day. He said great, then I wont have to go to the nurse this year (he is now a senior). He is now on Prednisone and florinef, in am & pm. But the dr told him that it is even more impt that he does not miss a dose. Well we went for his labs recently and in all the years we have been going, this was the best ever. I dont know if it was all my praying, but he seems to be so much better and more responsible. Now does this make me stop worrying, No, But I feel alittle better. My goal is to make him laugh everyday and that isnt hard, just being myself. I am sorry that this is so long. I hope others had a good holiday weekend, I enjoy so much just reading the board, dont usually talk much.Denise
