Chris DOur 3 yr old son (CAH SW) has been on a 3x/day schedule since he was diagnosed at 7 days old. (except for a very brief period of 2x/day). We have tried to stick as close to 8 hrs as possible. We were also told one hour on either side of an 8 hr interval is fine.
I do notice affects in him if we go much longer than 9 hrs. He gets his first am dose at 6:30-7:00am, next dose at about 3:00pm, last dose at 10:30. So the intervals are about 8 1/2, 7 1/2, 8.
His bedtime is around 9:00 and he is asleep for his final dose. He has become so accustomed to it he will take his pill in his sleep without waking up. It took a few weeks for us to be able to give it to him in his sleep, but then he adjusted just fine. We put thee pill on a spoon with a little bit of All Fruit (like jelly) and he just eats it. For us, giving him a pill at night while he slept was easier than trying to adjust the other times to stay close to 8 hr intervals.
