Pedialyte does come in several "flavors", but you are right, Laura - none of them are very good, and my kids don't like them at all. Pedialyte also make freezer pops, but after reading the instructions, it seems that my 4 yr old daughter would have to have something like 26 of them in one day to make up for fluid replacement! (and they are NOT cheap!). I have to warn people about using Gatorade or Powerade or any of the other sports drinks as a fluid replacement when your child is vomitting or has diarrhea; they are definately not in the same league (all you have to do is compare their ingredient labels - a much watered down version), and our endo has a fit if she hears of anyone using them for such. But, what do you do if your kid refuses the Pedialyte?? Plain water is also, evidently, no good, because it can "leach" extra salt out of the body, along with the extra fluid. Better something than nothing, right?? The last time my daughter needed extra fluids, I tried mixing some fruit drink crystals (like Kool-Aid) in with the Pedialyte. It still wasn't great in my estimation, but at least she drank it, and at a time like that, the extra sugar can't hurt either. Thanks for the reminder to do a medication check, Laura - I'll do it this morning!!Wendy-Lee
