My children eat "Mouse Traps."

This is bread toasted with a smidgen of vegemite on, scatter on some cheese and toast under the grill, then cut into little soldiers.  They can be left to cool and stored in an air tight container for snacking on. An alternative is marmite.  Both of these are very salty and of course you are giving them all the benefits of the other vitamins and the calcium in the cheese too.

They love em!

I also add salt to the porridge---we love porridge---as well as sugar.  Sounds vile but most sweet recipes and biscuits include sodium or salt.  You can also make pretzels yourself and I also make rice pudding and put salt in that.  Doesn't taste the same without it---rather like having it without sprinkling the nutmeg on.  I find that they like the mouse traps though and I can put those in their lunch boxes for morning tea at school.  You can also make savoury scones with a little salt and cheese in there and some very finely chopped onion.  If your not a cook just get the ready made scone mix (idiot proof!) and add salt and cheese and voila!

Bon Apetit!
