Julie HSorry I didn't want to cut in with the post about gatorade and pedialyte because i felt that this was a subject all on it's own. When there is an adrenal crisis how do you know which is occuring:
Hypoglycaemia = low blood sugar
OR
Hyperglycaemia = Blood glucose to high.
Do they both occur? Isn't there a kit that you can use to check if this is happening? If diabetics have this, why don't we have them for our kids. I know that adrenal crisis is a little less common, but it is a matter of urgency al the same and perhaps it would help to know what to be giving your child in the way of fluids or dextrose?
I note that with Hypoglycaemia they need a sweet snack or drink?
Am I getting something wrong here? Also in treating one doesn't that affect the other and make it worse? Totally confused here and would be very grateful if someone could please fill me in--I am totally diabetes illiterate!
