My brother-in-law and two of our very close friends are anesthesiologists, and they state, and I trust them, they say that it is not the anesthesia that is "stresful" on the body, it is the procedure that determines the amount of "stress". So I am sure that the MRI procedure being non invasive has to be very safe in that regard.
