cortisones and gums
9/17/01 4:32 PM

Hi,

I Have classical adrenal hyperplasia and I'm 31 years old. Just wanted to add that cortisones also can play havoc with a person's gums. I have teeth with no cavities that may fall out of my mouth because long term use of cortisones have made my gums as the dentist put it  " all spongy and receeding."  I'll be having surgery soon on my gums to delay this from happening. I can't urge someone with CAH enough to make friends with their dentist and visit every other month for teeth cleaning and check up of the gums.

Take care,

  Aimee
