Thanks for the references, Julie H. and Rebecca!  There was lots of great information there that will certainly come in useful on a rainy day....I will bookmark these sites. 

It was very interesting to see how to calculate mols from grams, Rebecca.  Unfortunately, it looks like one would still need to know the molar mass of different elements, in order to translate between the two.  I remember Joan W. once calculating the atomic weight of 17-OHP in order to figure out a conversion (it was very impressive!!).  Unfortunately, I am completely unequipped to do the same---chemistry is definitely not a strength here.  A nice chart or table with all the numbers in place is what I'm looking for, so if you ever come across such a thing, please pass that along, as well!
