CAH and Stress Management

I am the father of a 6 year old CAH w/SW boy named Triton.  I am familiar with this condition, but I would like some 1st hand advice on the extent to which I should be concerned about minimizing his exposure to the "Normal Stressors" in his life.

I would consider "Normal Stressors" to be running, swimming, minor bumps, minor bruises, scratches, minimal corporal punishment, verbal scolding and the like.  I have been told by his Endo-Dr. that his normal Cortisol dosages are sufficient to accommodate life's  "Normal Stressors", but serious injury or illness would require a "Stress-Dose" of the medication.  The Endo-Dr. has also stated in a letter that I must maintain a "Low Stress Level" for him, as CAH is a "terribly severe life-threatening condition unless it is treated correctly and that stress plays a terribly important role in the proper treatment of the condition."

These strong statements have caused me great concern, and I would welcome any advice on what efforts other parents in my situation have gone to minimize life's normal physical and emotional stressors in their CAH child's life.

Your contributions to my understanding of "Stress" are greatly appreciated.
