Douglas, My daughter's ped endo and endocrine nurse have told me that I don't need to worry about the type of stress you mentioned. My daughter is now 33-months and experiences what a non-CAH child would - bumps, falls, temper tantrums. Being in new situations is also stressful to my daughter, but not to the extent that a stress-dose of Cortef is ever needed. I would like to add that when she was cutting her 12-month molars, I did do a double dose for a couple of days. She just wasn't "right". After talking with the endorine nurse it was decided that I would do the double dose for 2-3 days. However, if there was no noticable change in her after 24-hours, the extra Cortef was not needed and I should stop. I did notice a difference and ended up doing the double dose for teeth 2 or 3 times. There are others who partisipate on this board who have older children who can go into the many activities their children are involved in and what (if any) CAH precautions are made.JanetD
