I am in a terrible situation involving my ex-wife, my son's Dr's and the family courts regarding Triton's condition. All of mine and my family's visitation rights have been revoked due to the unfortunate family court interpretation of several Dr's letters regarding his CAH condition. The first letter to the courts is from the mother's family general physician stating the following:
"Triton's health can rapidly deteriorate with Triton suffering irreversible damage that can be life threatening. Person(s) caring for Triton need education and training to properly treat and monitor Triton's condition. Without having the proper knowledge and appropriate training needed to evaluate and treat Triton's condition, Triton can suffer a catastrophic or fatal episode. From a medical standpoint, it is necessary for the continued health and well being of Triton that he only be cared for by those person(s) who have the requisite knowledge and training specific to his condition."
This letter was all that was needed for the court to issue an order preventing me from leaving my son unattended with my mother and father.
Secondly, I received this from my son's Pedi-Endo Dr.:
"Mother reports stress high during visitation with father. Mother also stated that he does not think Triton needs his medication that much. Triton needs to maintain a low stress level and continue medication as directed in order to maintain a healthy life."
This letter included a Dr's prescription that states the following:
"Please avoid situations which cause Triton excessive stress. While I can't keep Triton from being spanked, it would be in his best interest to avoid those situations as much as possible."
This was used to persuade the court to issue the order that no one was to administer any form of corporal punishment to Triton, and subsequently leading to the court ordering "Mother Approved" supervised visitation for me with my son Triton.
I an just devastated, and this conflicts with everything I have read or experienced with him since his diagnosis with CAH.
