Solu-cortef can be given IM or IV, so what you have been told is correct. Julie has written the directions for a proper IM injection. For drugs that could only be used IM it is important to follow those directions to the T, but solu-cortef works fine and very rapidly IV. As a matter of fact in ERs they generally inject it directly into the IV line.
