ShaunP.For me here the real issue is common sense. Any care giver does not need to be an expert on CAH to supervise our kids. All they need to understand is that if an accident occurs to act as they normally would CALL AN AMBULANCE and give the EMS team a letter explaining the additional complication. Anyone looking after a child who becaomes lathargic and unresponsive will also seek medical advise and for a child already flaged would be more responsive. I do not get worried about leaving Liam with friends who know very little about CAH because I trust them to call me or if in doubt call an ambulance as they would for their own kids.
For any doctor let alone one who seems to have picked a side to write a letter that is so misleading that it perpetuates ignorance about CAH does us as a community no favours. This kind of thinking leads our kids being refused entry into nurseries, clubs, sporting activity and leads to fear. We have nothing to fear about CAH.once we have learned about the condition and my biggest problem is to get people to relax around Liam when they find out about his condition.
There should be only one rule on this board. If you have anything negative or critical to say in response to a post DO NOT POST IT. Parents and CAH suffers come here for support and should not be run off because someone feels judgemental. This site is on the WORLD WIDE WEB and we will never agree on everything because our diverse cultures and backgrounds guarrentee that we will have different veiwpoints. ALL we need to do is respect these differences. Censoring what people post on is not the answer because when parents hesitate on posting because they are worried about the responses they may get the community becomes hollow. I will stop rant now...
