I am sorry that you are having such a difficult time. I don't want to get into the problems of your divorce, but I did want to address the issue of normal stressors. Don't wrap your child up in cotton. He must be able to be a normal little boy. He doesn't need extra stress meds to play ball, swim, ride a bike, climb a tree. He also needs to scoldings if he deserves them--an no stress meds needed here either. Don't be afraid to let him cry if he feels like it! Of course, if the weather is very warm, you must make sure he drinks enough, and if he is a salt waster he needs to get extra salty snacks. He only needs stress meds if he has a fever, needs stitches, vomits, or has diarrhea, or breaks a bone. He might also need stress meds for a bad cold, strep throat, or earache. parents that can work together to help him grow up strong and healthy. Good luck!
