My daughter had her surgery done at 3 months of age by a very skilled surgeon. He said from the get go. "If it is done right the first time it should never have to be done again". She was followed annually until she was 5. Then it has been once every 3 years. There has been no subsequent care since surgical recovery, no dialation, nothing. The surgeon has predicted that no subsequent surgeries will be necessary. She is not yet sexually active however it is clear that she has clitoral sensation. Other than the adjustment to CAH overall, the surgical aspects of all this are long in the past. Perhaps our ddaughter is one of the lucky few, I don't know. But we made an informed decision at the time and have no regrets. Neither does she. I hope the rest of you are so fortunate in whatever decision you make.anonymos
