Julie HYou know that is the one thing I hate about this topic on this mb---I don't like the way that other's words are twisted so. I in particular did state that I felt surgery 'should' be performed when the child is 'older', and not that it shouldn't occur at all. Your daughter is obviously greatly affected by the hormones---but some only have a slightly enlaregd clitoris and this some doctors feel needs surgery on! There has to be some kind of protocol somewhere and extensive counselling before parents make these decisons. This whole topic is about 'many' parents gaining support for 'their' decisions Kaye. Please do a search on the web and tell me 'where' I can get support as a parent making a decision against surgery? There are very few places I can go for that. Infact I have only come across two sites on my travels compared to the many 'for' surgery! Yet there are very valid reasons for some girls not having surgery and very valid view points here in. Valid enough to be insomnia provoking and keep you up in the wee early hours. The birds must be chirping there!
