Hi Adina,

First, congratulations on the birth of your little girl. I know how you feel because I was in your place about 4 months ago. I have 3 boys. 6 yrs, 3 yrs and 4 months. The youngest was  diagnosed through newborn screening as SWCAH.  How was your daughter diagnosed? I'm assuming since they said she was SW that she has some virilization. I was not sure that my son was a SW because he didn't have any of the usual "symptoms" that SW's have. I had his DNA checked and they found that his genotype showed he would be a SV. They do say that sometimes phenotype and genotype don't match. It's a bit confusing. I am going to NY at the end of the month and I will have a DNA test done also to see what my genotype shows. I had my other  two boys tested using the ACTH test and they came back showing they were not affected. I have had a hard time dealing with this CAH. I am so much better. In part because I went to see a counselor and in part because I was lucky enough to find some ladies on this board who let me "cry on their shoulder" and help me see that they are "normal children" with every possibility offered to them as would be if they didn't have CAH. I am here if you need to talk. You can email me or you can call me. I am in Houston. I can give you my number in email. Take care and know that you are not alone.
