Can you please explain to me why you find the words "Intersex" or "Ambiguous Genitalia" so offensive here you people? In order to want to 'change' something because you find it 'so' distasteful, you need to elaborate here why you find it so distasteful in the first place. My upbringing was a sound one and I do not know about anyone else here but I was brought up not to be prejudiced in any way shape or form. It just doesn't sit right with me when I hear people's prejudiced comments. Also, in referring to things said in any threads please get them in the correct context that they were meant. I hate being quoted on something I said in one thread about a word when it has nothing to do with surgery at all. When I said energies are better spent on other things, I mean that there is some serious discrepancies going on at the moment. If your going to beleive everything that your doctor says now, then by all accounts, all the revelations that have come about by mal practice or ignorance in the medical field would never have been 'put right' in the first place. They may have degrees, but they get it by reading and taking exams and just do their jobs, until someone comes along and says, "Hey" we got it all wrong. Are you telling me that all those years ago they really knew about the nerve supply to the clitoris and that they just chopped at them anyway? If this is the case, perhaps we can enter into some mal-practice suits here. That way they can admit what they are doing wrong and put it right. Another thing, the minute that they 'admit' they did wrong or got things wrong, how many women are going to be beating tracks to their doors to sue them? They are not going to broadcast the fact that they were wrong. So don't wait for it or hold your breath.Pebbles
