CherylDanny, Im new to this board but let me give you an atta boy for your response about the term "intersexed". I hesitated to post but I have to say this...I am 35 yrs old and was diagnosed with Classical CAH/salt wasting within the first few hours of my life. Of course, I had ambiguous genitalia and had that god awful surgery at 21 days old. I can say that the CAH hasnt affected nearly as much as the surgeries did but at no time in my life have I been confused about my gender. I have never understood the term intersexed and just dont identify with it. I am becoming concerned that yet another label has been attached to those with CAH... Labels tend to be misleading and they become sterotypical. I understand there are several women who do identify with the term inter-sexed , and that is wonderful, but there are just as many women out there who do not! Me being one of them and it galls me that the women who do consider themselves intersexed feel that all CAH women should consider themselves inter-sexed. I just dont understand it. For years I have had to live with labels or terms that others felt they needed to tag on me for medical reasons.
