I must have missed where someone found the term "ambiguous genitalia" offensive, I thought the term we were discussing was "intersexed" which implies that the person is not fully male or female. Offensive terms are offensive because of how they are understood, not how they are meant. And this one is understood by the majority of people as meaning something negative.
