I really haven't got the time to sit here and argue back and forth. I do feel you made reference to my education. If you haedn't the word would not be anywhere in your posts. It is, ok. Furthermore, I would like you to read all my posts on here again please. Tell me where I said that I was against surgery? I was against uninformed consent. 3 to 5 year old girls are incapable of that. 12 years and up maybe. Like betsy say's, if anyone has issue with the word, you would be better finding some other way to vent you energies. The reason why is obvious. The ones who have the problem with the word, have it because they find it distateful. I don't. You are not getting anywhere trying to beliger me into changing my understanding of it are you? I won't. To my mind there is no better word. So go and put your energies elsewhere. Also, I am wondering if that by diverting here and disputing this word if anyone really wants to face up to "Informed Consent" where genital surgery is concerned. Why was this even brough up as I said below. Is it that by leaving these girls until they are 12 or so, that you feel that they will have this "intersex " label longer or what? Basically as a parent, I would never let one word stop me from preserving my daughters rights to choose what she wants to have done.Pebbles
