Chris DJust thought I would add my two cents - When my son was about 3 months old he started to get constipated. In hindsight, it may have been something to do with starting solids. We started him on cereal kind of early (long story) and I think it was about that same time. Anyway, we were also told to stick with the "p"s. I made sure he had some pears, prunes, or plums every day and we didn't have any more problems. Also, he has always been a big water drinker. I can't remember exactly how old he was when we started with water, but I know for sure it was by the time he was 6 months old. I always had water around and he would crawl over and drink it. I notice he gets very irregular if he doesn't drink enough water. (Just for reference, he was breastfed until about 10 months) Good luck
