Also, what baffles me is just how they work out these things with the medication taken earlier and doing them "anytime," since all children metabolize at different rates as ShaunP points out in the "Hydrocortisone v Cortef" thread. Isn't it erring on the side of caution to just have the tests done as Roberta says so that the cortef or hydrocortisone do not even confuse the issue? I mean what do they do to be really sure that your child is not under suppressed when they have had their meds beofre their blood tests that could possibly be more accurate than not have them muddy the waters at all?
