MicheleMy oldest daughter who will be 11 was diagnosed with CAH more than one and a half years ago. She is on Cortef and is doing fine. She started getting pubic hair at five. Her doctor kept blowing me off until I found a new PCP. Anyhow, my question is, I have a 9.5 year old daughter that had blood work done and she has , I believe, 2 enzymes or whatever that are off. She had some body odor, her bone age is normal, but today she showed me where she was getting pubic hair. I think her breasts may be starting to get larger. At first I thought it was because she dances and takes gymnastics and it was muscle tone. DO I HAVE REASON TO BE CONCERNED?? I know girls change at different times, but I think 9.5 is young, what do you think? I am going to put a call into the endo as soon as they get there. The endo decided not to put her on Cortef because there was only 2 enzymes off , and her bone age is normal and thought the risks would outweigh the benefit, but also told me to let her know if anything changed. The endo examines her every four months also along with her sister.
Thanks for your help,
Michele
