I am just enquiring with other's how often their children need to have dose raises with HCT? If they are on tablets (hct) what are the dose raises in increments of normally? (i.e. 1.25mg, 250mg and where do they distribute those doses?) With suspension, what amounts do they raise your child's dose when it is needed? Do they distribute the dose raise equally over all three doses in the day id you have x3 timesa day dosing regime? When Ashley was a baby he was on twice daily dosing of 2.50mg x2 per day (suspension) and then they gradually raised that dose ever few months as he grew until they reached 5mg x2 per day. Then we were given tablets since he was on twice a day even dose i.e.5mg which was available as a tablet. Since then however, they raised his doses in 2.50mg amounts which initially would have been 25% of the 10mg per day dose. He did not grow very well. Then up to 15mg (20%) which he remained at both dose raise for some time (years not months). Then of course the 2.50mg cut back to 12.50mg (20%). Always his bone age was immature for his chronological age. Then with the drastic cut back, his levels have spun out of control. Almost like the crude jumps back and forth have been too much and caused over and then under suppression. Now since his recent problems I wish to go to suspension so that we can do wee dose raises equally across all three daily doses and do them les and more often as opposed to big amounts and less often. Our recent application for subsidization for suspension was turned down, although another child has the suspension subsidized. On friday, I take a health advocate along to try and get the application appealed and would like to have a rough idea what other endo's do where dose raises are concerned world wide. Seems like this suspension has never been subsidized here in NZ to be honest or it would still be now. Has anyone got a child on HCT suspension around Ash's age (9yrs) and can you please e-mail me with the details if you have. For those with kids his age on tablets, please can you tell me what age your children came off suspension and what their bone age scans have been like since they changed to the tablets or had the 1.25mg or 2.50mg or more dose raises?
