dose increases

Our son (3 yrs old) is on the hydrocortisone 5 mg tablets (Cortef brand). Since switching to the tablets 1 1/2 years ago, we have mostly decreased. Although, we have had a few increases lately. We have always increased by 1.25 mg (quarter tablet). If the total daily dose requires one larger dose, we do it in the am. (e.g. 2.5 in am, 1.25 in afternoon, 1.25 in evening). If the total daily dose requires two larger doses we have them in the am and pm with the middle dose of the day the smallest.

Right now he is on 2.5 mg in the am, 2.5 mg in the afternoon, and 2.5 mg at night.

He has had the rollercoaster effect of over and undersuppression. It is very frustrating.

I know our son is quite a bit younger, but hope this helps.
